Hi all, I am currently not in the industry, I wonder what are the chances to get a real financial analyst job after passing L2, thanks
good
and tips?
Honestly, work experience trumps all, so if you’ve passed 2 levels you’ll get passed over 100% for anyone with work experience. Sorry that’s how it is, but at the end of the day the CFA doesn’t make you a better investor/ analyst, work experience does.
^ Yes But I personally know 3 people who landed jobs in asset mgmt and ER, with the final decision that landed them the job because of passing L1 or L2 passing the levels will give you most benefits if already in industry
That’s encouraging, did they go to go schools?

Work Ex>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>MBA/CFA>>L3>>>L2>>>>>>>>>>>>>L1
My guess is you could have applied for jobs even if you failed L2. Regardless, entry-level positions are probably where you’ll have the most luck.
I laughed out loud when I read the commentary above.
Some companies might ask for accounting designation even though the job title is “financial analyst”.
What about MSc in Finance in addition to level 2? I plan to get them both next year and get into industry with little experience. University is strong in finance but mediocre by overall rankings. Could anyone comment if is it a strong enough core to break into finance world?
And another question I can’t understand: why so many people are taking this onerous exam when they think that it has so little difference compared to experience?
Because experience + cfa charter > experience only or cfa charter only. CFA charter wont get you a job, it’ll help you develop in your existing role.
prestige,self-developement,career progression, entering finance industry post experience in other industries, employment requirement, general interest, unemployed ppl trying to pad their CV…these are a couple of things that come to mind…certification and experience are not mutually exclusive

I don’t understand; how can there be any analysts at all if the only way to get a job as an analyst is to already have been an analyst? Did these people pop out of the womb with analyst work experience?
