I wont be taking level 2 until June 2010, but any input on how many months/hours of (effective) studying has pretty much ensured clearing level 2 on the first shot? Thanks.
why bother asking this question? it’s a function of how well u understood the stuff in level 1, your educational background and the ever changing curriculum, and how big of a margin u want to clear Level II by.
also a function of how well you are able to retain the material also a function of how much stress is going on in one’s life at the time also a function of how well you are able to manipulate the quant aspect and connect theories also a function of…
i just meant, for example, pretty much everyone who studies regularly for 6 months passes (a few cases of people who dont)… or is there still a good number of people who can study for 6-8 mts and still not pass…? Clearly, I’m trying to get an idea of a generally “safe” amount of time before the exam to begin studying…
I haven’t taken L2 yet, but 6 - 8 months should be more than adequate.
it “should” be enough. there are still plenty of people who fail after studying that much, if not more.
also a function of how much u r clocking in office also a function of how many friends are getting married till june also a function of how many matches ur fav team is playing
How long does it take for you to know six books with financial stuff inside-out? That’s pretty much how long you need. In L2 they can (and will) ask ANYTHING. Good scores in Schweser practice exams are not a guarantee. At all.
I don’t think there is an amount of time that would make me feel “safe” per se. There is a lot of heavy material here.
can somebody give me the exact number of sample problems that i need to solve after reading in order to pass the exam thx
supersharpshooter, i dont think anyone will have that answer but if you score above 90% in your practice tests under the stipulated time constraints, then there is a 99% confidence interval for you to clear the exam.
I love when people say, “they can ask anything on lvl 2” as if that wasn’t the case for level 1, lol For lvl 1 they asked such random sh*t that I couldn’t believe they actually wasted a question on such dumb topic.
600 hours of study time and at least 2500 sample questions. That should be sufficient to ensure a pass, otherwise I will say you just suck at studying.

Try for 1400 hours and you should be fine. Also do 150,000 practice questions. Try to read ethics 6 times the night before the test too and bring three financial calculators to the exam, I heard this helps.
thx can u tell me the exact # of q’s i should do to pass from each: 1) schweser qbank 2) stalla passmaster 3) schweser book 6 4) schweser book 7 5) CFAi end of chapter problems 6) 2004 schweser qbank
ok that was a bad joke just let this worthless thread die
