could someone help with explaining this.
This seems wrong to me, Cathay is classified as FVOCI why would we amortize it?
Occasionally, a company will amortize the initial premium or discount on a bond even when that bond is classified as FVPL or FVOCI. Why? I don’t know. I know only that they do it.
