As per Schweser Qbank , passive investment ownership in another firm whose securities are not traded are accounted for using the Cost method… I can’t find this anywhere in the Schweser notes though. How do we classify passive investments ?? It can;t be available for sale or Trading securities ??
Ownership in another firm is different than owning passive investment securities.
