Passmaster vs. Q-Bank

Which one should I get? I believe Q-Bank is more popular, but I read that Passmaster has explanations for why the wrong answer choices are wrong while Q-Bank lacks this feature. This sounds to me like a very important feature given the nuances that often trip me up, especially in ethics.

I think as long as you have one of them you’ll be fine. I can’t speak to both as I only have Q-Bank. You can look up questions pretty quick in the books though as they’re assigned by LOS, but yeah, it is easier if the answer is right there.

I also have QBANK, and I haven’t had any trouble with the process yet. Personally, I think its better if you have to find the answer then it being set out in front of you. That way you force yourself to retain the material. Just a personal preference. On a side note, it is a bit of a time-waster if you get a lot of questions wrong.

I found passmaster problems more thoughtful then qbank. Hard problems in qbank are lengthy and calculative instead Both work quite well to retain the readings

No experience with Passmaster, but Qbank is fantastic. You’ll be pleased with it.

I have both. Passmaster’s questions provide a little more substance but I really like how Qbank breaks each reading down by LOS and presents a summary of the LOS before you take the mini quizzes. If I had to go with only one I’d say Qbank.

I have experience with both. QBANK scores all the points. It tells you the difficulty of the question. Passmaster is a pretty straightforward deal. It doesn’t confuse you with the questions too much like Least likely, most likely, NOT, etc. Simpler questions. CFAi questions are like QBANKs.

Passmaster asks a lot of questions with “most likely” and “least likely”. I agree that Schweser is much closer to CFAI though.

I would suggest Q-Bank…I’ve used both. I thought I would like PassMaster better…when you get a problem wrong in Q-Bank, Q-Bank will reference the page number for both the Schweser notes and the CFA text where you can review the topic. Also, Q-Bank has approximately double the amount of problems in its database…so, you can easily make 120 question practice exams or review exams of any length up to 120 questions (great review feature). I feel Q-Bank is much more flexible than PassMaster. warrenb1
