He died yesterday at age 82.
I always liked listening to Pat Summerall. He was about the only guy able to tame the John Madden beast.
I enjoy watching the NFL Network’s Classic Games where he and Pat Summerall do the broadcasting. Those were good times. (Partly because that’s when America’s Team was actually good.)
He also drooled all over the Cowboys, so I’m sure that helped contribute to your liking him even if it is only subconsciously.
He never hid his Cowboy bias.
I know, he drooled all over them. Greenie is a Cowboys fan, ergo he liked Summerall. If Summerall had been an outspoken Giants, Eagles or Redskins fan, most Cowboys fans wouldn’t have been so keen on him.
