people preparing for level 1 Dec 08

I am taking the exam in Dec 2008 also, whatever your pace, mine is probably the same- i’m inflorida but would love to keep in touch with questions, etc. I am currently in the retail banking industry and have mt BS in Mathematcs =) Noreen

I’m signed up for the Dec '08 exam as well. Having full a full time job for a mutual fund company and a 2 year old toddler at home I decided to go the slow route. Glad to meet some other December students. G

Hi everyone! I am also taking the exam in December. Nice meeting you all! What topic are you reading now?

Hi, i’m jumping in…glad to see you all around. just got my materials for Dec exams…are we all having the same 6 volumes? i’m overwhelm! where are we suppose to start? i’m currently working in the investment area of a bank but my field is IT…so i’m far behind…

The only problem with starting so early is that it may be tough to maintain such a long study regimen. You’ll start forgetting material. You could do 4 pages of schweser a day and read all the material in time. Goodluck either way. Don’t burn out.

Am preparing for L1 in Dec too. I have heard of a few friends who wrote the exam before they completed their study sessions. They failed. Although Dec seems far, with full time work etc it will soon be upon us. I am reading as if I am writing in June. This will enable me to revise with my colleagues who are writing in June and will also give me time to study ‘twice’ - just in case. So far I’ve completed the Ethics part. How far are you guys?

I am swamped at work- I am still reading the Ethics…

Hi! i am also reading the Ethics…

Danlieb - eam june 1 , wedding june 8… my humble advice - do the june exam - it will keep you out of your financee’s hair and all the stuff that goes on preparing for the wedding. You and she will thank you for keeping out of the way. Weddings are all about the bride - groom just shows up for the day and is very much an after-thought in the whole scheme of things. You don’t want to get into debates about who sits at the bridal table, what design on the place cards, what color flowers, how may seats per table, fish or chicken main course, who will get to sit next to uncle albert, live band or DJ, will bridesmaides wear hair up or down, what style of dresses, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, If anybody does ask you for your opinion on any of these vital matters of state importance, your answer will be immediately ignored anyway. So thank christ you will not be asked, because if/when something goes wrong (something ALWAYS goes wrong - it will be all your fault!) Don’t forget to turn up for the wedding, but keep well out of the way - what better excuse than the CFA! good luck with both…! (ps had my 20th annivesary last year - same wife!) cheers…

… sorry - had to take the wife out for valentines day lunch - now i’m back… + continuing on from the above… and now the wife asks me “fish or chicken for dinner, dear?” - occasionally I really throw her off the track and answer “lamb would be nice!” - how things change… stay well out of the way of the wedding preps, do the exam in June, then you’ve got a whole year to do level 2…
