please share some exam advices!

Anyone, please advise us on how to manage in exam time! what should we remember? thanks in advance!

I divided the 3 hours in 1hr sections. So, roughly as each hour passes, I knew about where I should be in the exam. This is easy to do in L1, because each question is on its own. bring a watch and sync it up with the official countdown.

thanks man! Great idea! Anything else?

Don’t get stuck on a question. You need to allocate 1.5 minutes on each. Most questions won’t take anywhere near that amount of time. Come back to the ones you get stuck on at the end. Make sure you mark your scantron correctly. Best of luck.

Make sure you know what the question is asking (i.e. most likely, least likely). You dont want to read the question, look at the first answer and mark it because it is a true statement and find out later that the question asked “least likely to be true” or something to that effect. Read everything thoroughly…it wont make you be pressed for time.

Much obliged!

One more thing…i brought some ear plugs. There will be a lot of people flipping through pages and will have other background noise. this can help you keep your focus

play “I aint never scared” by TI before you enter the exam arena, and then pump your chest four times before the proctor checks your calculator

and then stare the proctor down

Make eye contact with hot proctors

Lock eyes with a proctor pre-exam. Without flinching or breaking eyecontact, shotgun a 4loko (if you need help, maybe a friend can hand you the can and a set of keys so you don’t have to break eye contact) and then crush the can on the nearest passerby’s FACE. Scream LOUD to show that you are PUMPED and READY for this exam. Do some push-ups to get the blood flowing properly, but also to show off your pectoids or whatever. Tear off your snap off pants (you are wearing snap-off pants, right?) to reveal the speedo you go emblazoned with “CFA>MBA”, right on the ol’ potato-lump. Walk back to a desk, distributing high-low “Top Gun” style high fives with your fellow candidates as you go. Sit down and prepare to get >70% on all sections. As proctors distribute exams, periodically scream things like, “LET’S DO THISSSSSSSS” and “GAME FACES PEOPLE, GAME FACES.” At least, that’s how I remember doing it. In seriousness, though, my best advice would be to get a good night’s sleep tonight. You won’t be able to sleep much, but get into bed no later than 10:30 regardless of whether or not you feel tired, so you can at least relax for 8 hours (even if you just stare at the ceiling and recite formulae). Oh, and if you’re in NYC/Javits - BRING A LUNCH, that food is disgusting and the lines are awful.

bring an extra pair or pants, just in case. There was a story about some guy who really had to go, but the bathroom lines were too long, and he poo’ed himself. Also, keep calm. My friend personally witnessed some guy that just started to freak out during the exam. yelling, banging the table, and ripping up his exam before he was escorted out…

One of the most important thing in real exam “Time management”. I am sorry but this has to be written in caps (Hope the moderator will le me go with this) When you solve a question (MARK THE ANSWER ON THE ANSWER SHEET RIGHT AWAY) you don’t want to wait untill the last 10 minutes to transfer the answers to the answer sheet, that can result in a disaster. Also, try to do easy and questions which seem “doable” first. Becase (1) It will give you confidence (2) You can always come back to the hard question and spend a bit more time (3) Sometimes its better to give a question 2nd look because you may be missing something when you checked it first time. GL

As an addition to the previous post: don’t spend too much time on difficult questions. Just move on and try to answer or guess them later. When skipping questions, however, be careful to continue marking the correct number on the answer sheet.

Don’t eat anything unusual.

smoke 'em if you got 'em.

Do they provide any locker or something ?! I gona be on the bus for an hour or so, wondering if i can bring my flash cards or not !
