Podcasts

I’ve started travelling a bit more and podcasts have been a life saver. What do you all listen to? I’ve been on these mostly:

  • WTF

  • Bloomberg Taking Stock

  • Motley Fool Money

  • All Songs Considered (actually way better than I thought it would be)

  • Joe Rogan Experience

These are usually pretty good.

I’ve actually considered moving to the 'burbs specifically so I could commute and listen to something on the way in. An audiobook for 7 Habits would be first on the queue.

I know CNBC (and maybe bloomberg too?) have stations on Sirius/XM but have never heard them.

And an economist subscription includes audiobook versions of the mag which I found pretty good at times (through the app).

Tony Kornheiser Show - If you like the PTI show on ESPN, this will be enjoyable. It covers lots of things aside from sports, but is definitely more focused on American sports.

Industry Standard with Barry Katz - Successful manager of many comedians talks with people in showbiz about how they’ve achieved their own success. Good interview with the creator of Saved by the Bell and many others. Even though it’s focused on showbiz, there is good career advice in there for everyone.

Here’s the Thing with Alec Baldwin - Baldwin is a great interviewer. I really liked his podcasts with Billy Joel, Dwight Gooden, Brian Williams, David Letterman, Michael Douglas, and many others I can’t remember off the top of my head. This podcast has the most professional feel to it–like they left a lot of the interview on the cutting room floor versus many podcasts that drag on forever and the hosts don’t seem well prepared. Top notch.
