Dear All, Trying to decide study source for FRA. Please indicate your advise by providing Number of Option you would follow: #1 - Schwesser and EOC questins from CFAI material. #2 - CFAI material (and EOCs obviously)

#1 - given you’ve taken some courses in accounting already in uni…
Study Schweser, don’t work Schweser EOC. Don’t read CFAI materials, but work CFAI EOC. Work all the accounting problem sets you can get your hand on. If possible, take John Harris’s class. I give him most of the credit for my 70%+ Accounting score.

For people who live internationally does John Harris provide notes that you can purchase?

Accountant here. Curriculum in FRA is rather hard to follow, especially with pensions and post retirement. Suggest you use both sources, but lean heavily on Schweser to understand the concepts, Make CERTAIN to examine the blue box examples in the curriculum.
I’m relying on John Harris this time, as I bombed FRA last exam and need all the help I can get

As I have posted a few times before FRA destroyed me in 2010, <50 but probably more like a 35, but I took John Harris in DC and absolutely crushed FRA in 2011. I was actually excited to get to the FRA vignettes and now I am more excited about not having any FRA to study in L3. If you take John Harris you don’t even need to look at the CFAI material except to run through the EOCs.
CFAI only. By that I mean, read the chapters in excruciating detail. Over and over again. You have plenty of time to do so till June and it’s worth it.
Big believer in CFAI materials, but that pension chapter is simply awful (unless it was rewritten this year). Palantir Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > CFAI only. Thank you All. Funny enough the reason I made this Poll on FRA is because I started reading through CFAI material the Pension, Post Retimenst sections and this chapter is really hard to follow. Concepts make sense but feel these are presented here and there; all this could be better written. Anyhow, for this chapter, I will read through both Schweser and CFAI material and do the EOC’s from CFAI. I can not attend John Harris as I live abroad and there no way me traveling to the US to attend same. Can someone get hold of John Harris’ material to study?
Both. Those who study using both will have so much edge over those who don’t. Why chance it, the exam will be much more difficult than you think.
