what’s the difference between capital appreciation and total return? Is it reinvesting dividents for total return, and not reinvesting dividents for capital appreciation?
exectly… Example of cap. appreciation would be the capitial gains on a stock Stock A increases from $10 to $20 Total Return would include the dividends paid as well as the capital gains
Capital gains would be (unrealized or realized) gains on the stocks held in your account, but total return would be considering the interim dividends paid along with the capital appreciation - Dinesh S
