Think you were able to manage 60% on the PM portion? If so, you should be fine.
It seems I felt the opposite from what most of you think. I got behind on time and the Quant section in the AM was quite difficult. I thought the PM session was easier/ I performed better in the PM section. If I had to guess I got high 30s/low 40s in the AM and mid to high 40s cofrrect on the PM session. The next two months are gonna be infuriating waiting to see whether I am going to be studying L3 or L2 stuff this faill/next winter. Wish everyone well.
Why would you start studying for L2 so soon? I would imagine start in December for L3 or February/March for L2 if you re take it.

i think less than 60….hard to tell because I never opened the book/notes after the exam. I did not want to put make myself more sad…I had a lot of questions where I just blindly guessed. I don’t want to write level 2 for the 3rd time. I thought i was the only one who had hard time understanding the afternoon part of the exam.
I though that both exams were passable if you had enough time to prepare. I have 2 kids that interfered with my study time so Im not sure if I have passed this exam due to lack of preparation. One thing for sure is that I thought going into the exam that I would be crucified but during the exam I thought this isn’t as undoable as I thought it would be. There were a couple of questions that stumped me but overall I tried to work through the questions the best I could
So to sum up I think the exam wasn’t as scary and un-passable as I thought it would be.
One thing to note the exam center was more luxurious to what I am used to - in a nice hotel and not some dank dusty warehouse this time!
I hear you. THANK YOU.
Maybe “the” we who go through this experience end up better for it. I don’t know. I certainly appreciate the humility and maybe ultimately, integrity(?) this brings to us in an industry that’s otherwise self promotion based.
Lots of low grade people in this industry but CFA charter holders arent really them, I’ve found. Thanks for your honesty. It goes a long way.
I too am feeling uneasy about it. I’m reliving 7 stupid mistakes I made and who knows with the ones I guessed on. It’ll probably come down to another question or two (band 10 last time, 2016). Crazy how consuming this is and how distorted the actual exam day is as being the only day that matters among so many. Like, reality bends a bit that day and then we have 2 months to process that those 120 bubbles we filled in are the ultimate differentiator.
Pretty intense thing! Needn’t I mention ;
I wonder if I get one or two section of 0 marks, but the overall performance above 70%. What the possible results should I get?
Depends on what sections you go zero marks on.
If it’s equity (where it was 15%), then no, you are very unlikely to pass. If it was something like portfolio management (where it was 8%), then it’s possible yeah.
I’ve seen passers fail two 10% sections. However, zero points on two sections is damaging. If you were able to guess 3 to 4 questions out of 12, then you should be OK.
Makes me think about how poorly I did on AI. I knew how to solve many of the questions, but the pressure was on and I did not have enough time. Major bummer.
I would guess that you pass if you are above the MPS.
Greetings,
I appeared for CFA level II. I performed 50-70% in FRA, Equity, Portfolio Mgmt., Derivatives, Quantitative and Alternative Investments, above 70% I guess in Ethics. For Fixed Income , Corporate Finance and Economics, I have no idea how I did. I used your suggested strategy throughout the exam. Whichever questions I had doubts about, I picked answer choice B.
Can you help me understand just hypothetically, how you people think I performed if what I mentioned above holds out to be true. I would greatly appreciate any comments or opinion.
Thanks
Any thoughts on the distribution of the three answer choices? Is it approximately 20 A, 20 B, and 20 C? I know that there is no point to looking at the pattern of the answer choices but I’m wondering if they are relatively equally represented.
It’s random
Sounds like you will nail it. Above MPS.
Only overall marks matters if they are above MPS. If it is just marginally less than MPS, then Ethics score might also play as a deciding factor.
