what benefits does taking the PRM give you though aside from 3 letters? do they go into significantly more details about risk maangement?
Well. if i pass CFA and I wouldn’t mind put extra 3 letters besides my name. i don’t think PRM is harder, more valuable. I actually prefer FRM over PRM. Honestly PRM is the last thing I will worry about knowing that I passed FRM.
the PRM is a much better curriculum - and also much more quantitative. FRM is broader but shallower. in risk mgmt, you will need to use the quant skills that PRM forces you to learn. its also a much more cohesive curriculum since you can learn from the PRM handbook - which is an excellent book btw - around 1800 pages of pretty well written material. the actual exam for FRM is harder, its clear that most of you guys feel the same. PRM focuses more on quant techniques and actual practical applications of RM. FRM is more theoretical. i liked PRM much more frankly.
