Practice Exam Result

So I took a practice exam last Friday, and recieved a 62 score on it.

Is this a good result considering the exam is three months away?

It’s not a good result, however thankfully as you’ve mentioned the exam is three months away so you have ample time to improve your performance!

Go through the question you got wrong carefully. Revisit the text and understand why you were wrong. Take more exams and keep aiming to improve. Rinse and repeat.

If you were weak in a particular area the topic tests on the CFA website are a great way to improve your understanding.

I haven’t even done half the readings yet either (forgot to mention that). I’m not sure if I am putting too much time into this or not…

Aim to have a month or so left over for practice questions/exams and revision, you’ll be fine. Time to get serious though.

For three months out, this is a great score, especially if you’ve only covered half of the material. I wouldn’t take this as permission to “coast” to the exam, but if you’re reviewing your wrongs and can keep the material you know now fresh, you’ll be in good hands on exam day.

Taking a mock exam 3 months in advance and scoring reasonably puts you far ahead of the competition. Your fine. Take that score up to the mid 70s to upper 80s before test day and you shouldn’t have a problem passing.

It’s a great position to be in. Practice exams have varying difficulties. If you can use that as a base and learn everything you got wrong (or guessed on), I’ll bet you start getting 70% well before the exam date.
