This would be a great obscure topic: LOS 45 i : explain the use of econometric methods in pre-treade analysis to estimate implicit transaction costs. There is an excellent example in the txt on vol 5, pages 32-33 that run through this, but nothing else. It just reminded me of the sample exam question where we had to evaluate if therewas enough spread in place to compensate for the cost of a two bond hedge. In this situation and the sample exam, there are no EOC problems that address the LOS. only these examples.
