Previous Schweser Users for FRM L2 - Number of Pages vs. L1?

Hey Everyone,

Quick question - I ordered the Schweser materials for FRM L1 in November 2012 (and was able to pass). Clearly, it appears that GARP is somewhat late with their release of the L2 source material, thus hindering prep providers like Schweser and BT from getting their materials out on time (as of this writing, Schweser was set to release their material on like Feb. 8th or something like that). Naturally, with the exam in mid-May, this leaves a shorter time frame with which to study for L2 — so, my question is — to anyone who has ordered the Schweser materials for both Level 1 and Level 2 in the past, can I expect the total number of pages in the Level 2 Study Guides to be less, more or the same as the amount of pages that were in the Level 1 Study Guides? (I realize that number of pages isn’t perfect for estimating study time, but I find that less pages = soothing psychological effect). Would really appreciate info from past takers.

Thanks!

DOW

Is there anyone out there that can provide me with some insight into this? Thanks again…

Hi there,

Total number of pages of 2012 FRM L2 Schweser books (4 pieces) was 976 vs. L1 material of 924 pages, please note that these figures include book covers, too.

I hope it helps in scheduling!

Wow, detailed answer, Krisztina. Thanks! So I guess it actually looks like at least the same volume of reading for L2, or perhaps more, depending on how the new/deleted AIMs impact the new Schweser material. For magnitude of volume as I think about my planning, this helps a lot…looks like I will have to unfortunately hit the unwieldy eBooks version ASAP to keep pace (sigh - wish the hard copies were here)…Thanks again, Krisztina.
