whats a principal trade and whats an agency trade?
This is level 2 material ( Softdollars). I don’t remember the exact difference but I believe one of them was executed through a broker ( agency) and this other was not.
principal is when the broker acts a dealer and takes the other side of the trade agency trade is then the broker acts as an intermediary to find a seller
