Hi Guys, Im going through the schweser book for Alt investments. It initially talks about a private equity firm and then a private equity fund, with no crossover definition. Are they the same??

I think it’s fair to say they are the same in that context. In private equity there is typically a fund and then a management company that serves as the general partner to the fund. The investment vehicle is the fund (typically a limited partnership). Collectively these are often called a private equity firm.
