Progress Check - new candidates

You guys are so FAR behind. I am not sure you will be able to catch up. At least it will be a practice try and you can really give it a go in June 2010!

Waiting for CFAI books. Need to decide on supplementary materials.

If you have nothing constructive or positive to say on how to manage this journey for L2,…I say stay away from L2…what happened in L3, there isn’t enough action. PLZZZZZZZZ

Finishing book 0 today… already behind! Going to do quants and econ hopefully by sunday… Is ethics like level 1 where its best to read the CFAI book, and save it for the end?

Have to start soon…probably by this coming Monday. I personally feel comfortable going in order, reading ethics first and then everything. When finished, I’ll read ethics again. It worked for me for level 1 prep and hopefully this time as well.

mpoonan is just joking, he’s a jokester

Thanx mpoonan for reminding us that we have to take an extra mile. Well, i like your comments, please do remind us from time to time, it helps to charge up with full momentum.

How about 30-35 hours / week ? or even 40 hours / week…Forget everything else but CFA L2 for next 4 months… 40 hours work + 40 hours of study…thats crazy …but possible … Lets make it happen

I can’t stand Quant. gotta get to FSA, my strong point. We can do this, stay positive and focus on good things

Just started tonight… we’ll see how this goes. Starting with the “Soft Dollar” stuff… Good luck to all!!

I am on the last reading of FSA - soooo many details i prob retained 20% Hoping to have FSA,Equity, and quant done before the end of feb. My plan is to put in about 25 hrs a week, so around exam time I should be around 400 hours. Right now I am putting in 2.5 - 3 hrs during the week and gonna hit it hard on the weekends. (8-10 on sat and sun) Qbank should be here soon… …and may god have mercy on my soul Reading 24 made me want to smash my face against my desk

I think I understand Quant now! HOWEVER, I haven’t read time series analysis yet lol. Supposedly it won the Nobel prize back in 03, should be a piece of cake

I’ve done Reading 11, didn’t understand much of it and have time series analysis to look forward to. Life is wonderful.

beingthatguy: Nice plan. How confident you are for L2 preparation? I remember, you were over prepared for L1. Do you feel 400 hrs enough for L2? I wanna be as confident as I was on L1 exam day. But i guess, I need to work really hard to retain the deep and lengthy stuff. As highlighted in different posts, QBank is not useful tool as it was in L1. Ditch: I am curious to know your plan. I learnt alot in L1 with you shooting of questions on the board. I wanna be consistent and align my progress with yours (both).

Econ finished. Quant - will finish this weekend. FSA- hope to be done by next weekend. I want to have at the very least 1 month to review everything + go over holes in Q Bank again. Then 1 month for tests+ review.

CFABLACKBELT how did you feel about 2nd half of econ? I think its very difficult

panny145 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > CFABLACKBELT how did you feel about 2nd half of > econ? > > I think its very difficult I did trianglular arbitrage and covered interest arbitrage in college so its not too bad. However, I still get confused why somtimes the Bid or Ask is used. And the US:AUD thing gets me every now and then or something. Theres a lot of little moving components that are easy to miss I think.

agreed. definitely struggling with fx.
