Progress Check - new candidates

Looks like I’m far behind. Just creeping through quant at this point.

i don’t think you’re that far behind… these people are just insane

I’m with you ditch. I just hit Econ.

I’m glad we are doing it 2gether (same peeps from lvl 1 that is)

Corporate finance: almost complete… except I just received my CFA books and the end-of-chapter questions that I haven’t done yet look long! I might suck it up and *groan* study tonight…

how are people feeling on lvl 2 corp fin vs level 1 corp fin? This was definetely one of my strong areas last time around, hope to continue that for some easy points

I work in Corporate Finance and I screwd it up at the exam, hehe. Let’s see whether I can do better this time (that shouldn’t be too hard)… I work at PE fund and bombed Alternative Investments and Corporate Finance, funny…

Saturday Morning, Who is on board?

Me - Reporting Saturday Morning Live (SML)

hehe, i’m already gearing up for a big nite out guys… It’s a multinational forum here

geranimo I mean Qbank was good for level one, but I dont know what else I would use to hammer away the concepts? But, I am def going to go through the CFA questions. I feel like QBANK is the only way to see the majority of the questions over and over again Sat morn and I am here hoping to finish up FSA and move on to equity

Ditch, are you going to use QBANK? PS. Anyone from boston area and wanna start a little sunday study group towards the end of this beast?

I have Qbank and Schweser Videos that I bought on eBay. Also I have Stalla notes. I watch the videos and create my own note cards. Then read the Stalla text, then drill the Qbank. This worked out pretty well for Level 1.

are you going mirror the text? I did after I failed in June and it worked out

I will do every CFAI question in the curriculum. But I have not found value in reading the text as the LOS are burried rather than separated in the notes. While the curriculum is more interesting to read than the notes, I don’t feel it prepares you to answer LOS like the notes.

yeah same, but for topics that I don’t get I gotta go back to the material. JP, whats your plan?

Boston here - I’d be interested in meeting up I’m 22 - currently work for a financial software company. What about you? It’s probably too early in my studies for intense Sunday sessions, but maybe in a month or so.

I started with Quant first. Figured I get one of the more painful topics out of the way. I took business stats Sophomore year, so it’s more of a review, but some concepts are still tough to recall. Next up will be SS #5. One of my company’s products is a Consolidation model for banks. I’m actually looking forward to reading about it from the CFAI point of view.

Been using Stalla. Lectures are good so far. Trying hard to do all the passmaster questions b4 going on to the next study session, def helps in nailing down all the concepts. Also, after every study session I’ve been doing most of the CFAI problems in the back of the book along with reading the CFAI chapter summaries. I plan to do all the CFAI problems but I’ll prob leave that till when I’m done reading all the material like I did for level 1. All in all, just like lvl 1, Stalla really prepares you to pass. I mean doing all the questions, all the lectures and reading all the books, they def put u in a position to pass the exam. Especially with the practice exams they give u on top of the passmaster along with the Mock exam. The only issue now is time.

Finally reach multiple regression in quant… stuff still is a bit confusing, but fortifying with qbank as I read… anyone willing to share the LECTURE SLIDES of Schweser Premium? I use essential, I don’t want watch the online lectures, but I like the lecture slides that come weekly with the class. How much would it cost to send me the pdf every week? I’ll pay $5 a file or lunch if you work in midtown nyc.
