Psychological Traps - Status Quo Trap

Schweser’s definition: the analyst prediction are highly influenced by the recent past. Doesn’t this sound very similar to anchoring? How is this different?

Anchoring is dependent on points (such at a stocks 52 week high or low, or the last four digits in your phone number). Numbers that anchor you to a specific outcome. Status-quo differs because it deals with recent trends (not a point)…trends or generalities that make it difficult for you to change your recommendation, in the case of an analyst. that’s my take…

Status Quo (P 22, Reading 23): Predict no change from the recent past. Anchoring (P 22, Reading 23): Initial impressions, estimates, data anchor subsequent thoughts & judgments.
