I just found out that a remake of the NES game “Mike Tyson’s Punch Out” was released for Wii (less Mike Tyson) while I was studying. Anyone played it? I’ve already purchased it from Amazon and my expectations are sky high! On a side note, I’m still trying to break the feeling of guilt whenever I find myself enjoying life.
I bought it on my way home from the exam. It is bad ASS. Especially if you like the first one, which was one of my favorite games ever. I cant wait for online mode. If you buy it, hit me back here and we can swap codes and get online and whip each others ass.
oops, already said you bought it. we’ll have to rumble
I will get it. You two are dead.
Who’s the final match if no Iron Mike?
McLeod or Maratikus
Don’t make me get all Soda Popinski up in here!
its actually Sandman. He’s the only one I have left. It has all of the guys from the first game, plus a few new ones. And a couple of them are ridiculously hard. Apparently there is a title defense mode after you win the game that is near impossible though. Hopefully I can find out tonight.
Who was that guy that said “I’ll give you a TKO from Tokyo”?
Piston Honda He’s on there
Well I can’t wait! How do I get set up to whoop… I mean play you guys online? We own a Wii, but I find that when I have time for video games I almost always opt to play Yahoo Chess or Chessmaster for PS2, so I’m a little (perhaps way) behind. Does the Wii automatically have the capabilities or is it some sort of subscription I need to purchase? Will my Linksys wireless connection work or is there some other piece of equipment I need? I should probably just google it…
it already has the capability. when you select the game, there should be an “online” section in the menu. It then connects. You just have to get your Online ID (different for each game) from the game menu and give it to your buddies so they can find you. YOu can also just get on and fight random people. Most WII games have an online mode. Punch Out’s is cool - you can turn into this gargator Mac and destroy people. As far as setting it up, you may have to go to the Wii menu from your screen with the Windows (when yous tart up the system). its a wrench icon in the lower right. Go to online setup and you just have to find your router, which the system usually picks up right away. Then test the system and it will tell you if you are connected. It was really easy. Mario Kart is the bomb online!!
Thanks a lot BF! When I get the game and my system set up I’ll shoot you the info so we can throw down! If MWVT is as good at the Wii as he is at the Level III Curriculum his character may be invincible!
yeah, that may be scary… (no one invite McLeod…)

Mike Tyson’s Punch Out was my first “major” purchase. I remember it took me 2 months to save up the $38.50 to buy it back in '87. I’ve been putting off the purchase of a V-game system for the past two years… been afraid of what it would do to my study habits. As great as Goldeneye 007 may be, my N64 and NES look like sh1t on my 61" tv. I think now may be the time to upgrade. What do you guys recommend? I guess each system has its pro’s and cons. I’ve been leaning towards PS3 because of the Blu-Ray player, but Wii has all those kick ass series…

damnit. I was playing punch out head to head with a buddy at my house tonight and soon realiazed there is NO online mode. I had just assumed since there was head-to-head youcould play online. SHAT!!
I got this game yesterday and it is every bit as good as I hoped it would be. However, I tried using the balance board and couldn’t get my character to move the way I hoped he would. Perhaps after I beat the game w/o the balance board I’ll give it another go. Pow!
