hi, For parts 1 & 2 why 1.96 is being used for the critical value if the question is using 95% confidence? can someone get back on this one please? Thanks
because they say they’re using a large number of obs, meaning the t-critical value converges to a z, i.e. 1.96 is right.
thanks infact i thought about it. But do i need to look at the z table in this case because if yes at 1.96 the value is 0.975…?
0.975 is the area under the curve. 1.96 is the critical value, which is what you need.
