Qbank harder then CFAI?

Anyone else finding the Qbank questions more difficult? On level 1, I found the Qbank to be much easier, but on level two something about the CFAI questions seems more direct(and answerable). This could be a good or bad thing I guess. Am I crazy?

CFAI questions are definitely more direct and clear. But I would say overall Qbank is still easier.

qbank asks questions that are awkward and extremely poorly worded…CFAI questions are succinct and to the point. I agree with topher, qbank is till easier.

CFAI testing seems to be more conceptual and better at testing critical thinking. I would also say there is a pretty big difference between the easy Qbank questions and the hardest ones. I try to remember to uncheck the easy box. I would say some of the hardest Qbank vignette questions are just as hard as the hard CFAI questionst though.

SkipE99 raises a good question on level II… what % of questions are conceptual, rather than calculations on the LI exam?

Are you guys crazy? Even with all of Qbanks sh!tty wording it is way easier then the real thing. Don’t let it lull you into a false sense of security, Qbank is a cake walk compared to the real thing!

yeah Qbank is retarded… I did >70% on whatever 5 chapters i did Qbank for, but when I did the end of chapter cFAI questions, my success rate has been a poor less than 40%.

I agree… I’ve had the same experience. Great % in the schweser notes and Qbank and not so good with the CFA questions. In general, they are tougher, although clearer in wording.

Do your all post suggest that Q-bank is absolutaly useless and one shouldn’t squander one’s time on it? Should we only hit vignette style MCQ from CFAI text? When the mocks will be available?

Sample exams are available now…Mock is after 1st of may… Qbank is still good to get understanding of the concepts…but inevitably the vignettes from CFAI and schweser mocks are the way to go in the few weeks before the real exam…

Let me caveat my statement a bit. When I approach a Level 2 qbank question, I am BLOWING through them much like on level 1. I am spending almost the identical times per 60 questions, so that probably factors into lower scores. Also, its not like I am failing, but not seeing the 85%+ like in 1. When I approach the CFAI questions, I actually take enough time to think the questions through. Just did the freebie sample exam, and that was pretty enjoyable. I didn’t even look to see what question I was on until I thought my internet went down when next stopped working(I was done…). Oh, and the Schweser related questions are still worth doing. The questions may not feel like a CFAI question, but you can still learn the material.
