25 yrs of quatery data value std error intercept 1.2 .7843 slope .84 .3525 Distribution DOF .025 .05 z test NA 1.96 1.645 t- test 25 2.060 1.708 t test 24 2.064 1.711 confidence interval at 10 % significance for intercept is? a. -34 to 2.74 b. -09 to 2.49 c .17 to 2.2
Bogus question. If there was 25 years of quarerly data, n = 100 and DoF = 98.
25 years quarterly data = 100 points. so use Z 1.2 +/- 1.96 * 0.7843 = -0.34 to 2.74 (a)
CP - Why would we use z?
ahh forgot about that little loophole. If n is large (n>30) you can use Z. Don’t remember seeing that in any L2 material, but it was in Level 1.
Seriously - that was the last thing on my mind. Thanks for the reminder.
the answer is B CP - level of significance is 10 not 5 i.e. 1.645 not 1.96
