Quant opportunities - MFE and CFA study overlaps

Wondering if any practioners of quant finance can share their experience as to pay, opportunities and value of CFA to get into a quant role.

I looked up UCLA MFE curriculum and found that stocastic calculus, emperical methods and computational methods were the only things not covered in the 3 levels of the CFA curriculum.

Any insights into covering these as self study will also be helpful.

I sort of qualify as a quant – I would probably suggest, however, that the FRM would be more useful for the exact purpose you described.

+1 on the FRM. Have you also looked at the CQF?

Are you in a quant role in the US? If so, what kind? how is the pay? I will look into both CQF and FRM.
