Question about bachelor degree

I have a 3 years Bachelor degree from Latrobe University (Australia) that some sources on Internet show that it is not equivalent to the US bachelor degree. I have no experience either. Suppose that if i pass the three exams and work in related investment industry for 4 year, would i am qualified for a charterholder or i must wait for 4 more years to get the experience credential before taking any exam? I’ve plan everything on taking the level 1 exam in Dec 09. If not so my life is ruined.

3yr Aus degree is fine. I’m about to have a b.fin in australia also. i also have no experience. if you work and study at the same time, that counts as experience. good luck finding work in australia atm in finance outside of accounting. why would your life be screwed? L1 cfa doesn’t mean much

I am actually in the will be in the third year (final year of my bachelor degree) at the time i take level 1 in this Dec. I will graduate in May 2010. I really love the CFA program and i am very serious about that. Why would they deny the equivalence of Aus 3 years bachelor. I mean in UK, its bachelor is also in 3 years plus a thesis. An Aus 3 years Bachelor does not have thesis, so it is not qualified. But if your learn for 1 more year to get the honour bachelor (has thesis) then it will count as a UK,US bachelor equivalent. If so, study in Aus is the toughest cause you must achieve a 70% average grade of your 3 years bachelor before going into honour bachelor, this is my university requirement. All i must say: “It is unfair”

huh? you lost me. i haven’t even graduted, CFA don’t care. only for L2 do they want a degree. CFA states US 4yr bachelor’s or equivalent. Australia’s equivalent is a 3yr course. We don’t do ‘general studies’ that the US does, thus our degrees are shorter. as for honours…why bother  unless you want to be an academic. loving the CFA program…its like a relationship with a girl. sounds great at the start then she complains you don’t understand her so she gives you hell.

Thank you nicob, it means a lot to me.

That is why I feel like I am in hell. Having two girlfriends seriously has its toll cause I dont know which one I love more.

don’t know so much about loving one more then the other, but its great that one lets you screw up many times and still gives you a chance. if only they were all so understanding of my needs.
