Question regarding face value of a bond in calculation

I know i am probably really screwed if i am still asking this question up till this point:

I always calculate my face value of a bond assuming its 1000, i realise that some of the practice question uses the face value of 100 and as a result my solution for example in the calculation of the EAY, is 1 decimal point smaller. Is there any rule that i am suppose to use the FV of 100 instead of 1000?

If the PV is close to 1000…use 1000.

If the PV is close to 100…use 100.

There is no rule, but you better be sure that you’re assuming the correct magnitude when inputting the numbers into your calculation and answering the questions.

Thanks guys haha
