I hated my old boss, but I still gave two weeks notice, it’s the right thing to do. That said, I still don’t think I could get a job at that company again if I wanted to, but at least it’s one less thing to hold against me. My boss didn’t even acknowledge the fact that I was leaving until my last day because I gave my notice to her boss instead of her directly.
That is true, after I gave my 3 weeks notice at my old job (they wanted more time, which was fine), I would take random mid afternoon and morning breaks to go do things like throw baseball outside on the lawn with another guy (who ended up quitting too).
this thread makes me wanna quit
Somewhat related question. If you’ve accrued vacation time and your company is obligated to pay you for that accrued time, and you leave without notice, will they just end up sending you the check in the mail?
Sometimes if you hate your boss and quit giving two weeks notice, your boss will say nevermind, we will pay you for your two weeks, just go. That was one sweet 3wk vacation between jobs. Give two weeks as a courtesy and then hope they won’t want it!

I had a boss who I held in the lowest possible regard. I was in hospital having major surgery for two weeks and it was life changing stuff. You know, organ fiddling here and there. My boss did the bare minimum - think I got a card and a tie when I got back. I’m not even sure if she even orchestrated that to be honest. No other support and boy I could have done with it. It’s pretty tricky when you are on your own in a foreign country and the first language isnt your own. Thankfully most doctors speak in English. Anyway, I bided my time and stayed the course - I jumped as soon as I got another job - I stuck it out for about 6 months of complete disdain. The payoff was the exit interview. I gave it both barrels. I heard she wasn’t in the job for much longer. I’d like to think I contributed to that.

Muddahudda, You disliked your boss because he didnt care you were in surgery? You are co workers. Who cares what they do or have going on in their lives unless you actually hang out outside of work. This guy had a tumor removed from his brain and the first thing I said to him when he got back was “damn dude that scar sucks”.

I gave just a few days’ notice for my previous job because I didn’t see the purpose in giving anymore notice. Plus, I just didn’t want to sweat it out in my previous job and wanted to have more vacation time to myself before starting my current job. It was important for me to maintain my mental sanity, and I didn’t think I’d be burning any bridges by leaving. Of course, my boss did try to twist my arm about stuff after I announced my resignation, but he kept doing that just about every day before that and I just felt like enough was enough. Haven’t looked back since.

He would say, i was too scrawny, and even had the nerve to say jokingly that I should get implants, yet he wasnt in great shape, and the anther girl there was obese, so he was going way out of his way to pick on me. And that was just part of the problem with the job, he would also try as hard as possible not to give me any work, I think by him doing more he could get a bigger bonus (he was very greedy), And he was agitated that I was studying for the CFA, cause he was insecure and thought if I passed and I move past him.
I think your boss is full of it. Send me a pic and I’ll give you a more honest opinion of whether you’re too scrawny or not.

Why would you care about the ones you actually hang out with? They are co workers. Why do you even hang out with them? Ugh, you benny.

This is great - I’m literally sitting here thinking about the words I’m going to use to resign in about 5 minutes. I’m giving until the end of next week - a day shy of 2 weeks because I actually really like my boss, if I didn’t, I’d give it until this Friday. Here I go…
