random qbank question

what SS’s do you score the worst on? for me so far- ss9, ss18, and ss7 some of my best scores are on equity, but this is one area where i think there are a lot of softballs tossed up by schweser. do a couple of end of chapter CFAI q’s in equity to get back to reality. quant also- my scores are good, but i feel like there are quite a few “easy” questions that kind of lift up that average. just curious if we all have similar weaknesses (i.e. maybe the qbank is written harder on certain SS’s, or if it just depends on what you’re good at).

For me is ss3,ss7, 8 and 13 that are killing me… I still haven’t done any Q-bank for Der or PM… As you just posted in you equity example…QBank is not a good benchmark…there if a big spread between CFAI and Qbank… this time around I’m planning on doing both books of Practice Exams from schwesser…I think getting used to the cross study session questions is critical…

I have not been through SS9 or 18 yet on Q-bank but SS7 was my worst one so far, followed by SS 11. I’ve only been through FSA, equity, ethics, and econ on Q-bank though so we’ll see what happens when I hit FI, PM, and derivatives…

I find the middle section of equity - specifically without the valuation aspects in it – which has a lot of left curve field balls thrown at me. Porter, the aspects about the market etc. etc. which no amount of reading wants to bring into me. I reason my way to some answer - but there is something I have missed - which leads to the other possible choice… per Schweser. I also find Schweser unnecessarily throws in to much verbiage into the body of the vignettes - so they kind of push in numbers as text, making it more difficult to read the passage. I feel the CFAI questions are clearer in what they are asking you to do, and given a choice - would prefer the CFAI kind of vignette style. Bannis, Aimee - given you have taken the exam already once before - do you feel the CFAI questions are more representative of the style of questioning?

yes, i think a lot of the end of chapter item sets from the CFAI are actually taken from past exams. they last year in the texts even said ‘taken from 06 exam’ or whatever, but don’t say that this year b/c they knocked off an answer choice. schweser is wordier, yes. but CFAI will throw a lot of graphs/charts out there- there’s still a lot of info there, just less chatty if that’s the right word.

I find some of those could have been incorporated as charts / tables in schweser as well, but they choose not to…

ok Post number 20…yeppeeeee… does this still classify me as a lurker?
