RC: didn't finish AM or had to rush to finish last questions

I left about 12 pts on the table for the AM session…The AM wasn’t hard just a little long, but the PM was full of trick and crap…the ethics was so subjective, so I am more worried about the PM…

I finished the entire AM section (albeit rushed towards the end) and prob hit a 70%, but PM destroyed me badly… I’d be lucky to get a 50% on that, will be re-taking next year for sure, dammit.

i left the am session happy that all i needed was 60 on the PM since i knew for sure that i did okay in the morning session … i fell for 10-11 mistake which i was sure i had them right but apparently they were tricks.

Had two sub sections of the same question which I left for last, but time was up and left it blank. Hoping AM will carry me through. Probably left around 12-15 points.

I wrote one the first page, just next to the minutes alloted to each question, the exact time when I should move on to next question and it helped me a lot - had no problems with time. I think that’s a good thing to do before tackling first question.

i think i did the worst among all of you here… left about 50-55 points totally blank… i never knew the time would be very tight… had someone told me, had i done more research, i would most likely have secured a pass… the rest of the questions were actually quite straightforward… im very sad… very very sad…

There were a lot of tricks that one would see from the answer choices. There were specific answer choices that lead to obvious wrong calculations that an average performer wouldn’t even realize. If you noticed that there were a lot of tricks, then chances are you got those questions right.

My sentiment is the same as you. AM was straight forward. I finished every question right on time and I believe there was only 1 sub question that was like WTF? For PM, I found the first half of the test trickery and tough. The second half were very straight forward if you had your formulas on lockdown and knew which data to pull from the given tables.

Good luck all.

dude…im here to rub it in…

99% who took L3 before, passed or failed, had warned that Time is going to tight…tighter than…forget it

From last year’s forum, the MPS seemed to be around 62 to 63. I think the MPS is typically low 60’s to 65 but am rather more concerned about how AM papers get partial credit or not. Does anybody have an idea on how things are graded? if you select the wrong answer, but justify it correctly, do you get credit for the justification or is it all wrong and you get 0 points?

I finished but I wasn’t exactly happy with a lot of my answers in the last half of the paper and for the 1st question to be honest. You really have no time at all to think something through, you either get it at the time or you don’t. you don’t have time to sit and consider things.

glad I did the live mock, drilled into me that you just have to move on once the allocated minutes are up. i suppose the only reason i finished was because i just put down something for questions i didn’t really know and moved on, made some time. was able to go back and check some answers or add to them at the end but

There was a chunky point part in the 2nd last question that i was guessing on, i really hope that getting partial credit doesn’t hinge upon selecting the correct answer in the 1st column of boxes and you get some credit for correct explanations. reading the explanation once the exam gets published next year must be a strange experience.

Don’t feel so bad Zerobeta, I spent 6 years went through these exams and I also fell on the same time management crap of the AM session, it was terribly long, just flipping through the papers already took a few minutes I think

I’m pretty sure you don’t get partial credit

I followed strategy of starting from last question because both IPS questions are time killers … I managed to finish early but im sure i messed up few parts but all in all AM was way better than PM.

For what?

I left about 20 marks in AM on the table. Paper was straightforward but fell short of time.

But I have no idea whatsoever how the PM can be considered tricky!!! Looked pretty simple to me… Finished it way before time. Or maybe I just overlooked and fell for some tricks. Only time will tell…

Circling wrong answer but right justification

I like when they give two close answers and one way off one

I think I must be still in a CFA mode… cuz i read this comment I feel this description fits a type of behaviourial bias… Sorry Zerobeta I didn’t mean to offend, just realised that it might take me a while to stop looking the world around as CFA…

AM was fair to slightly hard. I saw myself losing on time and picked up pace in the middle. i had 15 min to review. I counted at least a couple that were really difficult, i remember learning about it, but was just like well if this shows up then i’m screwed and lo and behold it was there. haha. Pm for me was easy, but who really knows with all them tricks.

Guess I’m in the minority here thinking that PM was harder than AM. AM was tight on time for sure, I finished with probably a minute left. But only one “item set” was really over my head. PM had tricks all over the place though. If you didn’t notice them, unfortunately the odds are that you got tricked. I’d love to mention a couple that come to mind, but alas such a thing is not allowed. :frowning:
