Reading strategies

Good afternoon/morning, forum.

I hope you’re all staying safe and doing well.

I’m intrigued to know how you are/had tackled reading. I’m not asking for advice as to how to read the textbooks. I’m just interested in know how people are approaching their own studies.

I’m currently preparing myself for May '22 Level 1. I’ve decided to go in order of the resources provided by the CFA, so Quant reading is the first topic. My masters degree was heavy in quantitative methods, so I think this is a good place to start as a refresher.

At present, my approach has been read what the LOS are, then skim read the subject. I will then return to answer the LOS, this does me in effect I am double reading, but I am priming my brain before hand and then proceed to answer the questions as I go along. I think this has been effective so far - I guess time will tell.

I was wondering, have you done or doing similar, or have you got a different approach?

Thanks!

R.
