Any thoughts from this experienced forum on why a firm would decide to delay by at least of two weeks awarding its employees their bonuses … I can understand reducing them to nil but missing the deadline ? (with the assumption of bankruptcy being extremely remote) Tx
If it’s a hedge fund or fund of funds they still need to settle NAVs and collect fees. Especially in 4Q08 where NAVs were hard to strike.
A) They’re checking the house financial services committe to see if they can use TARP funds to pay you your bonus. B) Your firm is facing liquidity issues C) Your firm is insolvent D) You work at a ponzi fund E) Everything is fine
Two weeks is a decent time man. If it hits three you need to go in there and ask “waz wit dis boss, i gotta eat.” Although I think perhaps some of your more aggressive co-workers should have piped up by now. If this firm even remotely cared about its employees and what they do for the company they would have at least issued a memo in advanced, saying they might be late on bonuses or no bonuses this year. Did you not get the memo?
