Since I’ve shifted careers, recruiters have started contacting me for various positions. I have to travel a good bit now, which has unsettled the wife and family life, so I’m always willing to listen and look for a good fit that doesn’t travel as much. But this one… This recruiter knows I’m on the road at least 50% of the time and had the gall to tell me “We don’t have Zoom or other virtual meeting capabilities, but I’d like to meet with you next week.”
What?
A) No virtual meeting capability in 2023? What decade are you operating in?
B) My schedule is set a quarter in advance. I may be home for a month and then on the road for two months. If you want to get on the calendar, I’m gonna need more than a few days’ notice.
Now don’t get me wrong, I’m no executive headhunter target (obviously). But you gotta give me something I can work with.
