^Yeah, the World Cup belongs to a country, not a city. That is, if the US were to host, games would be played in New York, LA, Jerry World, Seattle, etc.
For those who ever have an opportunity, you really should visit The House That Jerry Built. It is quite amazing. You can take a tour that will take you into Mr. Jones’s private suite, the cheerleader’s locker rooms (where you can sniff where they have been sitting), the player’s locker rooms (where you can sniff where they have been sitting), and onto the field. Even if you’re not a Cowboys fan, it’s still pretty impressive.
I always crack up when my American friends describe football as ‘futball’ with a European accent. I’m actually a huge fan of american football however there’s only one real football.
Agreed on the QB impact. They may not play every position but they have the ability to make large impacts on a game. Their compensation also dictates this.
Since 90, World Cups were in Italy, US, France, Japan/South Korea and Germany (2006).
Then they went with South Africa, Brazil, Russia and Qatar. I don’t like the saying “if it quacks like a duck…” but, really, is this the best group of countries for 16 years of World Cups?
I am a brazilian living in Brazil and I think the World Cup here was an awful idea, for brazilians and tourists alike. The government is trying whatever they can to cover up the huge problems with infrastructure, public transport and crime, at least. And the WC is probably going to look good on TV, just like South Africa. But it’s a mess.
I also think Russia and Qatar are even worse choices than Brazil (at least we’re good at soccer). Brace yourselves for World Cup 2026 in N. Korea.

Well, I remember that in the last World Cup, the North Korean team would cry when they lined up for the national anthem. I wondered if they were just very patriotic, or if there was some other reason - i.e. the government was holding their families hostage or something.
