Results @ Aug End

Does anyone else feel, thats just way too long? I can understand the time taken to assess essay questions, but multiple choice scantron scanned through a computer? They should have the results in less than 2 weeks, considering the amount of money they charge per candidate. I did some math. In my center there were about 1200 students on the US East coast. Each student paid about 1000 to attend the exam. Maybe 400 was the cost of printing the books and developing the content. Remaining 600 is what they got per exam. There were about 80 proctors and security people. Perhaps they hired 30 more to clean up the place. These were all hired for < $100 per day. Total cost $11k. The place was rented for

They need to set the MPS which is a long process. But yes August is way tooooo far. Maximum 1 month should be it.

WTF, You got free parking? I shelled out like 12 bucks. Seems like preferential treatment, Got shafted in LA. Back to your original question, they do take a ridiculous time to get grades back.

I think they just do it so they can release it simultaneously with the level 3 results, which take longer due to the essay portion. They release level 1 results sooner so that if people fail they can get a head start on the December test. Though I agree it seems like way too long.

I’ve never seen so many people in my life taking one test. Our room was full of test takers, and the room was equivalent in size IMHO to two full football fields + the end zones and space for the teams on the side. Miserable as well - freezing cold, concrete. Reminded me of the bowels of a large container ship without the engine or cargo.

i’d like to get a head start too if i fail L2 so I can rewrite next year. And by the way, why not administer L2 in December. Why make everyone waste one full year? I heard that L3 is easier. So, it might make sense for anyone failing L2 in June to attempt it again in Dec then hope for the best for 2011 Level 3. Its almost meaningless to pass L1 in December, as it would rather require a combination of a) Genius b) Stroke of Luck To pass L2 in June right after you get your results in the middle of February. Anyone here studied for 4 months and feels they will pass L2 ?

Setting the MPS shouldn’t take longer than 2 weeks. I don’t see why results aren’t in the end of June. Even though the CFA is very secretive, and I’ve heard horror stories of them comparing all of the answer sheets to anyone elses in the same test center, and throwing people out of the program who have answer sheets too close. Seems bs to me, if people studied together they’d have similar answers, but whatever. I guess that process takes a while. I failed so it doesn’t matter anyway.

Heck while we are at it, why don’t they just give everyone who attends the exam a pass grade. The way I see it, everyone wants to take corners in EARNING their charters. It all about give me give me give me. If you don’t want to wait a year, then study CFAI text thoroughly prior to exam, and not Schweser, Stalla or something else. And FYI, they have to bring together all the exams from all over the world, and plus, there are always more L2 candidates in the summer than L1. Hence, the time for international delivery, sorting, scheduling, scanning, inputing, referencing to see if some questions were potential problems, etc. Anyways 2 months wait it nothing. If you want instant results, go do a series 7 or something.

I realized while walking out of the exam that I was kinda glad I won’t know how I did for 2 months. One, i can keep thinking for 2 mos that I may have gotten lucky and passed (don’t have to feel dejected just yet). And two, i don’t have to worry about deciding if I’m going to take the level 2 again, or have to start thinking about the level 3.
