very bummed…failed band 10 Can’t decide what to do now because this was attempt 2. I have passed all of my exams (7,66 and clep exams) with little to no studying on the first go but I took this one very seriously. I studied every spare moment I had for this and just am not getting through. Do I try again because I have already put so much in to it or accept it and move on???

Thank you sir. So those who passed don’t have a band, right?

Econ 101…the 2 prior attempts are sunk costs… In all seriousness though, what were your results like both times, meaning are you weak in the same areas both times or different areas?
I took along with two friends and we had 1 pass with greater than 70 on all, one band 10 and another either band 7 or 8 so pretty much inline with what you would expect. All of us were doing better than 70 percent on the Kaplan practice exams.
What I am more concerned about is the time I put into it. Obviously it is costing much more than I anticipated but the monetary cost is not as important to me. I actually did much worse on the first attempt (band 6). My areas all went up or stayed the same. I really did the best in Econ, Fin Reporting, Ethics and Corporate finance. I am about to transition to independent consulting so I will have much more time to study. I don’t need the designation for work I just want it for personal accomplishment and becuase I really want to know the material well enough to feel confident in my own analysis. I appreciate your opinion
^^ Well given that you seem to want to do it for the right reasons (personal, not b/c an employer is telling you to), I may say to go for it. You’ve improved a lot between the two times you’ve taken it, so you can probably keep up the momentum and pass on the next attempt. Best of luck if you decide to go for it!
Passed. Above 70 in all sections. awesome feeling! Thanks heaps to the regular posters on here for the support.

But I was so close to passing that I’m pissed off now, mostly because I have tell people who don’t even know what this exam is, and they’re going to look at me like I’m stupid… I wonder how long I can wait to tell my boss…
