retaking mock exams

Is this an effective method for you guys to learn from your mistakes or is it a time waster?

Haven’t done it myself yet but you might want to consider this:

Do it but set your time limit to 2 hours instead of 3… or maybe 2.5 hours and subtract 1% from your score (or some small arbitrary amount) for every 5 minutes you go over 2 hours.

you will remeber the answers. why don’t you drill in the questions you get it wrong.

It’s effective. Do it. Trust me, you won’t get 100%.

Wouldn’t that be nice.

I think its worth it if you run out of mocks.

yeah CFAI mock im going to take on thursday so I can remember/practice every nuance they can throw at you. I felt like they put a lot of time consuming problems on there this year

yeah I am going back on thurs for the CFAI 2013 mock. until then its all EOCs and BB. plus drilling formulas and concepts.

the hole point of retaken something is to try to be able to walk through the steps and being able to explain why you take those steps. obviously just memorizing the answers isn’t going to teach you anything. but when you can explain it that’s the key when re-doing a mock.
