Return on invested time - Corp. Fin. & Derivatives

Anyone else getting the impression that corporate finance and derivatives require way too much time to study up to an 70-80% level? The problems are just too long and time consuming, IMHO. I go mad when I switched a single sign in a swap PV calculation after investing 10min doing all those discount factors >;) Since I am strictly allocating time based on topic weights, that is 50-70% of time go into FRA and equity valuation, I am tempted to just leave CF and derivatives a little less prepared (say 60-70%), thought I have not yet had much trouble with derivatives so far. However, that are tons of EOC problems in the CFAI corporate finance book. Is this in anyway an indication of many exam questions to expect?
