Review plan - what's yours?

As we enter the realm of less than 10 weeks to go, what is everybody’s review plan:

For me, I have just finished the first reading of all the material.

Review plan

Step 1) Complete EOCs in CFAI books - 3 weeks

Step 2) Complete and review vignettes available on CFA site - 2 weeks

Step 3) Complete Schweser mocks (6), then CFAI mock (1) and review - 5 weeks

At the same time, reading over Ethics and Schweser secret sauce regularly, and supplementing knowledge using Schweser question bank (easier Qs).

Does this sound like a good approach, how is everyone else tackling the final 10?

I’ve got almost the same plan

Might revise your plan and spend a month doing the ridiculously hard CFAI topic tests.

I completed the EOC when I did the curriculum so I will only revisit it if I need extra review. Just too time consuming and some of the questions are too easy.

1.) Finish Topic Tests in next 2-3 weeks. Heavy review in my notes as I go after the answer. Make sure I know how the institute derived its answer. I kind of view this as an open book test.

2.) Start Schweser Mocks 3rd week of April. I have 6 of those, 2 Wiley Mocks, and a live Schweser Mock in May. My first 6 Schweser mocks will be done in chunks. That is, do each vignette at a time then review immediately. It is the best way for me to learn. Go back into Topic Tests for any weak areas. Then my goal is to do 4 exams in exam-like conditions.

3.) Save CFAI Mock for last week.

Daily - Review notes/flash cards at work during the day. When My 11th hour guide comes in I will use that as well while doing Topic Tests and Mocks. Also attend Saturday AM review classes with S2000.

My Plan :

2nd review & made key summary : Alt Inv, Corp Fin, Port Management, Fixed Income pause for “Batman vs Superman” (25 Mar)

2nd review & made key summary : FRA, Equity, Deriv, Quant, Econ, Ethics pause for “Civil War” (6 May)

after that Mock Exams 5 times pause for “X-Men : Apocalypse” (27 May)

1 week before the exam.

First I am going to go through as many CFAI questions as I can find.

Then I’ll work on Schweser mock exams.

And keep making review tests using the question bank through out the process

Will candidates be taking time off work directly prior to the exam?

  • Review everything by extra quick reading entire Scweser Notes once again and concentrating only on weak areas.
  • Solve all key blue boxes in weak areas.
  • Solve CFAI EOC vignettes by finishing each chapter (I have done it already, Will do it again).
  • Solve all topic portal tests upon finishing each topic review ( once again).
  • I plan finish till 20th April and then planning to take CFAI portal Mock.
  • After determining weak areas from Mock, review only those areas and then repeat Mocks in intervals until 2 days before real exam.
  • Stop studying 48 h before exam. Have a good sex (with wife) at least 48 h before exam. It’ s good for concentration on exam.

This is like a race, pedal to the metal. A million ways to die in the West…

^Nice save! Its always good to clear the pipes befor the big day hahaha

Did you guys read the entire CFA curriculum? I did a first pass through the wiley notes and started reading the FRA but it’s way too boring.

I’m thinking going through the examples and EOCs will be enough, as most of you mentioned above. Then hit the online topic tests and practice exams.

Yeah I read the entire curriculum this year and have completed all the EOC practice. I’m currently doing a quick review through the Wiley Study guide and finishing my own note consolidation and flash cards. I plan to complete my review pass in a couple of weeks then dedicate the rest of April to the topic portal tests. Then it’s on to Schweser and CFA mocks for May and concurrent review. My final week will be spent on Wiley’s 11th Hour guide and possibly re-reading Ethics.

I hit 300 hours of prep this week so I’m feeling good about my progress thus far, but I still have a lot of work to do.

I just hit 200 hours last week. Will need to do 100 hours each for the next two months.

Only for clarification on some things. Wiley was more than sufficiant to do the EOC questions.

My first reading will be done by 10th April, I am using the curriculum. After that I plan on doing a quick revision with extra focus on weak areas + redo all EOC by 1st May. In may I plan to attempt 8 mocks (6 Schweser + 2 CFAI), attempt all questions available online on CFAI website and revise weak areas.

I am currently at phase " Alien vs Predator".

i am still at phase “EOC vs Schweser Practice”, hopefully next month will be at “EOC vs CFAI web practice”.

Just done watching civil war (international release is today for my country).

Topic test CFAI left partial : Derivatives & Ethics

still not touching topic test CFAI for Econ & Quant at all.

will try to finish them up before 6 May.

Top Gun phase is yet to come and maybe we can colloquially call it Texas chainsaw massacre…(what a name for vignette:)
