A week is a short period, so the interest could be ignored? The original question doesn’t provide any interest rates.

  1. centralized- control at the top, good b/c you can see how risk is related firm-wide and the decisionmakers at the firm control risk, better for risk budgeting also. decentralized- control w/ the groups that actually are taking the risk, which can be good b/c they know their own risks best. bad b/c you look at risk in silos instead of firm-wide. 4a. .961 - 1/1 = -3.1% b. 1.02 - 1/1 = + 2% (note: haven’t looked this section over in ages, could be way off)

I think the reason they directly use forward price is that Interest rates are equal in both countries and a week time .

yeah you guys are right- it’s 1.9%… whoops, that extra .02mm you didn’t hedge out at the 1/1.
