this is just what I heard, 10 days left, people panic, so i dont know if this is right or not… say if you pass(youjustdontknowit though) then you should be able 2 register level III now on CFAI… can anyone give a try… TC
Didn’t work for me - but hasn’t changed my confidence in the slightest. There was only a small window where this worked years ago I heard - PEOPLE DON’T PANIC IF YOU CAN’T ENROLL JUST RELAX UNTIL NEXT MONDAY. Backoffices could be in shambles if everyone starts believing this hearsay.
I don’t think there has ever been a “backdoor” to discerning exam results early. We just have to wait it out for another week.
There has always been a backdoor Chuck, CFA has cracked down on this recently though

I’ll try to find it. http://www.analystforum.com/phorums/read.php?12,1179650 Found it: “Re: Registration Opened? Posted by: june2009 (IP Logged) [hide posts from this user] Date: July 15, 2010 08:02AM This was the process from 2 years ago as i understand it. I don’t think it applied last year when we were waiting for L1 results… For starters, if you go to cfainstitute.org and sign in (or click the monstrous link at the bottom of this email) you will see your candidate home page. It has five major sections with a variety of links under each section. The sections are “Profile, CFA Program, CIPM Program, Membership, Customer Service”. Under the CFA Program section, the first link for you should read “Register for Level X Exam” or something to that effect. The rest of the discussion will center around this link. In prior years when CFAi would update everyone’s accounts their IT people would do a staged rollout. Basically the weekend before (usually the Saturday before) they would go through the candidates accounts in sections and update their links prior to publically announcing their grades. After completing the update process later that evening, the IT people would use a function to essentially hide the link I referred to above so that on results day they could simply “unhide” those links and all would be revealed. So the time in which you could figure out results was limited to that transitory window after the links had been updated and before they were hidden. If you click on the link I referred to above, you will be taken to a screen with a series of checked boxes. The last checked box in that list reads “Level X CFA Examination Registration” or something to that effect. As long as that box is still checked (referring to the exam you just took), your account has not yet been updated. If the box is unchecked, then your account has been updated. So the possilities are as follows: 1.) If the link reads “Register for Level II CFA Exam” you can be reasonably sure that your account has been updated and you have passed. 2.) If the link reads “Register for Level I CFA Exam” and clicking on it reveals the last box in the list is unchecked, then your account has been updated and you have failed. 3.) If the link reads “Register for Level I CFA Exam” and clicking on it indicates that the final box in the list is checked, then your account has not yet been updated and you are unsure. The timing is the hardest thing to catch as you only have a few hours. Typically it’s easiest just to keep an eye on analystforum.com and wait for someone to point it out, they seem to catch it most years. It has worked for me each year and I’ve never heard of a case in which the results were contradictory. I’ve heard rumor that they may have altered their process this year (2009 L1 results) to avoid leaking the information.”
I checked my Level 1 result the way u described…it showed ‘Record Selected’ instead of a ‘Check’ But when I clicked on it again, it showed a ‘Check’ sign Also wen I clicked on ‘Purchase curriculum’ on the main menu, it showed an option for e-book purchase for level 1 dec 2010. But wen I refreshed it, it showed nothing… Iv no idea wat this means but im guessing I failed:S
I hate to add to the neurosis but I think that CFAI may have given a tell as to whether or not a candidate has passed. 1) Go to the candidate dashboard. On the left side there is a section labeled “Recommended Study Resources”. 2) Right click on the picture of the books and choose “View Image”. 3) The image will open in a new tab. Look at the top of the tab does it say “2CFA11” or “3CFA11”. Could it be possible that “2CFA11”= Level II, 2011 would be a fail (implying that in 2011 the recommended course is Level II) and “3CFA11”= Level III, 2011 and would be a pass? Any speculation?
Here’s what mine says when I click properties: http://www.cfainstitute.org/Site%20Art/candidate/2cfa11_covers.jpg And it is a picture of a dude. I think we’re taking this too far.
its pulling it from above where it indicates your status “registered for L2 2010,” i have reason to believe they haven’t updated anything yet, hence registration is closed from 24-27, so around the 24th on, all for speculation but until then, chill
im guessing the window of time for this trick has already passed??? Where the link to register for exams usually is says that function is down for maintenance. Did it work for anyone?
mine shows level II i.e red books for 2011. just like jcole21…
Anyone see the level 3 books?
no. red books for me as well
It happened in 2008 when I passed level 2. On Saturday, when they shut down the site to load the results, if you logged in there would be a link to register for level 3 if you passed. I actually clicked it and got all the way through to where I could put in credit card info before I stopped. If you failed, it unchecked all the boxes on the left of the screen. It hasn’t worked since though - a lot of people that found out the failed early got pissed off and called CFAI and they “fixed the glitch”. Enjoy your last weekend anyway. Binary outcome to commence next week.

That’s like a kid who’s getting drunk at a club underage puking and then complaining to management that he shouldn’t have been able to drink.
My CFA just says registered for Level II in June. Could this mean anything or is that just inconclusive???

I agree, but I thankfully passed. I’m not that type of person, but I could see how finding out you failed 2 days early just in time to ruin yourSaturday night would be cause for plenty of pissing and moaning. I wouldnt have gone that far, but I can semi-understand it. You know?
>> My CFA just says registered for Level II in June. Could this mean anything or is that just inconclusive??? I’m pretty sure that means you failed and will have to take the Level II next June. If they let you.
oh no thats the end of my world!!! now I’ll go drown in my sorrow fukinnn cuntttt
@ G_Man what recommended study resource are u getting? 3CFA11 or 2CFA11?
