Schweser note Reading #6 Concept checkers #11

Hi all, I am just wondering if I can get some help on this question below.

#11. Which of the following statements least likely represents a characteristic of the time-weighted rate of return? It is:

A. not affected by the timing of each flows.

B. used to measure the compound rate of growth of $1 over a stated measurement period.

C. defined as the internal rate of return on an investment portfolio, taking into account all inflows and outflows.

The answer is C… and I believe it must be most likely represents a characteristic of the time-weighted rate of return…

Is this a simple erratum? or am I missing some bits?

regards,

J

No it’s not an error. C describes a money -weighted return.

Oh, how embarrassing… Thank you for pointing that out!

Much appreciated!

regards,

J

Not embarrassing really. You will probably find that such twisted questions are the hardest in the exam. The fact you spotted something fishy with C means you are an active thinker, not learning by heart.
