Schweser Practice Exam Vol.1 Exam 2

Anyone found exam 2 significantly harder ? surprise

I wrote Exam 1 yesterday and scored around 70%ish, and the haunt didn’t start until I attempted to write exam 2 today.

I completed exam 2 morning session, scored 60% on it. After awhile, I began writting the afternoon session.

After I done the ethics part, I was like “okay eff this…” and eventually I stopped the timing and started the guess-and-

peek motions because the practice exam was tough, and I could hardly concentrate due to the people walking around

me (I was at the school library).

Btw, I’m sick of looking at the smiling b face on the schweser notes. It actually makes my day harder lol…

Oh man, I’m fairly certain they make their mocks progressively harder. I’ve done volume 1 and the first exam in volume 2 now in order and (AM/PM combined) have scored 77, 69, 68, 77. Definately see a trend there. I was getting pretty bummed out by 2&3, so the easier vol.2 mock 1 was a pleasent boost to my ego. Probably write the CFAI tomorrow and see how that one compares though… The biggest problem is they each tend to focus on certain areas, meaning if you don’t understand something like interest rate puts, you’ll probably fail most of derivatives (or whatever section that was in…lol)

Also, there’s a few questions in Schweser that borderline make me resent the company. Ie. Vol. 2 Exam 1 PM, #16 - Does GIPS compliance require performance history for a:

(A) minimum 5 years or since firm’s inception, and a firm must add annual performance results each year going forward for a minimum of five additional years of performance history.

or, (B) minimum five years or since firm’s inception, and the firm must add annual performance results each year going forward up to a minimum total of ten years of performance history.

Seriously, questions like that aren’t testing our understanding at all

The answer should be B. lol tell me I’m right or I’m going to burn all these books tonight.

Actually I’m rewritting L1 because of failing the June exam. From my experience, the actual thing was easier

then the mock and the schweser exam. Last time I failed because I had only worked on one session

respectively from the mock and the practice exam (Exam 1 morning session, didn’t even complete it lol), and

scored a marginal fail (band 8). Well perhaps I got lucky, but if I were to write the June exam again, I probably

would do a better job now.

For the question, lol word bro. Somehow I’m perceiving that they are picking on tiny details and scraps, rather then testing the unterstanding to certain topics as a whole.

Didn’t you know? Schweser Vol 2 is a waste of time… you’re better of doing the CFA EOC’s again.

But again, I might just got lucky on the last exam. And I’m so frustrated by the discouraging scores on Schweser exams. EFF.
