Does anybody else find the Schweser practice exams quite difficult compared to the QBank questions?
I’ve done all the readings and all the QBank questions from Schweser but having a difficult time solving practice exams.
The thing is, Qbank questions were easier because I was doing them topic by topic so after my reading I would solve them all. Now doing the actual practice exams, all the concepts and theories are thrown in together and its hard to recall what I covered months ago
Qbank can be used in multiple ways…by LOS, by Reading, by Study Session. The LOS questions = Basic Level questions The Reading Questions = Progressively harder = Intermediate The Study Session Questions = Again progressively harder = Advanced or you can set up exams with a mixture of Basic/Intermediate/Advanced through “Test Management” function By saying “Topic by Topic” and do you mean you tested yourself with LOS quizzes…if so, you’re way under prepared. Best you use your testing time with Qbank “Test Management” with the three level mixture. W

Hi WarrenB1 When I said, “topic by topic”, it just meant, I went through each chapter in order and did every single Qbank Question under “Browse Questions” and did them by sessions, starting with ethics and going down through them all. I didn’t skip any but I found most of them being easy. Now are these the ones you meant LOS Questions that are basic and will not prepare me enough for the exam? Like I mentioned before, I’m doing schweser practice exams and they are quite difficult and very detailed. If the questions I did are very basic then I don’t understand why schweser has put roughly 3,200 basic questions to prepare us for a very tough exam. It doesn’t make sense. But now I guess it’s too late to do anything but just continue focusing on the practice exams from schweser and hope to retain and recall the info I learned. I guess, hope for the best
The basic questions feed into the more advanced questions. If you have a grasp of the basic questions the next step is to realize how the concepts illustrated in those examples will be combined or altered in a more advanced question. The examples are infinite here, just try to think of ways the CFAI may combine to very simple concepts to a more advanced questions by asking you to describe the relationship between them (i.e, typically what effect does an increase in x have on y particular ratio.)
Thanks, I understand. It’s like with any other final. All the practice and example questions seem easy until we reach the final. Final is always there to test our concept by combining theories and concepts together. I’m working on the practice exam questions. They seem good and much harder but at the same time, it’s all about applying knowledge and practicing it. Thanks and good luck.
