Hello, My room mate and I are both taking L2 in June. He has purchased the Schweser Study notes. I am planning on purchasing the Stalla notes just so we have a mix. That being said, which company makes the better multimedia products?
My vote goes to Stalla
Any in particular that you suggest?
I would go for the enhanced system. Pays. Even flashcards are good.
As map1 has suggested, the Enhanced System is worth every $.
I used Stalla for my L1 last year and was very happy with it. I am using it again for L2 this year. Never used Schweser so cannot comment on it. But I am sure it works just fine.
I used Schweser for L1 and passed. I then used Schweser for L2 and failed. The blame goes to me for failing L2 but I was also not that happy with the Schweser materials for L2 and have now switched to Stalla for L2. I bought the sytem that includes the study notes and self-study lecture CDs. So far I have found the Stalla lecture notes to be much better than the Schweser ones and I think the Videos are fantastic. I now know why everyone raved about Peter Olinto. Anyway, maybe its because I have gone through this material once before but I feel very prepared so far in the sections I have covered by reading each study session and then watching the lecture video on that study session. I also find the lectures to be a very nice change of pace from reading and taking notes.
I used Schweser material (incl. videos) for June 08 L1 and failed. Just like tikki I cannot blame the material as I was not fully prepared, I could feel I had not had time to review as much as I had planned and done as many problems and practice exams to fully review and be ready to pass. However for Dec 08, I bought Stalla material (incl. videos) and thought the material was better explained. True, by that point I had some base to start off with but I found them to be very useful. This time around (L2), I will be sticking to Stalla. Although I’ve been told Schweser’s secret sauce comes in handy for the final review. I haven’t used it myself, as I had my own summaries made.
I would say that Stalla beats Schweser in almost every aspect. I like the Stalla videos better, passmaster is much better than Qbank, but as for study notes Schweser might be better.
i’d say Qbank > Passmaster but Stalla wins everywhere else - of course thats just my opinion.
Does the passmaster have immediate explaination?
