for pass or not pass, dose student have to maintain certain percentage of correctness for each section, or it could be based on overall score. for example, the portfolio only have 5 questions ( the last section) economic only have around 12 questions. studnet might do poor in this section, but be very good on other section. in the case, will CFA institute still could let student to pass? It’s based on overall score. In theory you could get 0 in econ & portfolio management and still pass. But it’s pointless missing sections out as every section has it’s easy points, which are essential in passing.
