serious advice please...

OK…here’s the run down just so you know: 1993–undergraduate degree 2000–MBA (non-top 10) Level 1 Candidate in the CFA Program (June 2008) I have a myriad of business/finance experience ranging from Big 4 audit to consulting to insurance. I’m currently working in hedge fund administration (back office). I’ve had nothing but good/great work evaluations. I’m having trouble landing a position in investments that will enhance my current skills and consistently develop new ones. I can’t help feeling that, because I am in my mid-30s, the “clock is ticking” if you know what I mean. I can’t seem to get out of the back office role. Any advice?

Why are you having trouble? What happens? What size of firm? Who did you speak to (CEO or other)? If someone else were to describe you, what would they see/say?
