Wow good luck
You got it this year!!! See you on the L4 boards!
Good Luck. On the bright side you already have enough workex.
This is my first post on the L3 forum. OP, your persistence is an example to all of us. I wish you good luck tomorrow.
Wow, good luck OTBS! Holy $hit, that’s perseverance! Well, unless you simply didn’t study all those years you didn’t pass. People who study for a week, then fail, deserve it. But I doubt that’s the case with you after the L1 experiences.
2003 - Fail L1 (June) - Didn’t know the deal 2003 - Fail L1 (Dec) - Came Close 2004 - Pass L1 - Yipee 2005 - Fail L2 - My wedding was shortly after the exam… spent too much time planning 2006 - Fail L2 - Just Bombed… no excuse 2007 - Fail L2 - Got above average in everything except Ethics! (This was the toughest Fail) 2008 - Pass L2 - Yipee 2009 - L3 ??? - Already have my dreamjob… just really tired of studying! No matter what I am finishing this thing… I’ve come too far.

48 Hours of testing. You have stamina!

I failed L1 and L2 once each before I passed them. Definitely nowhere in comparison to others on this board. However, I always walked away from the exam not sure how I did. I also failed L3 last year (had a baby 1 day before the exam), and I studied very hard this year using the CFA books for the most part. I walked out of the exam having a “good feeling”. Never had this before, so I am hoping this is not “overconfidence” and that it truly means something. Is there anybody else that feels quite confident about this year’s L3 exam?
I do, but didn’t start studying until mid May, so who knows!
June 2004 - L1 - Fail (badly) Dec 2004 - L1 - Fail (a little better) June 2005 - L1 - PASS June 2006 - L2 - Fail June 2007 - L2 - Fail (decided to quit, but came back for one more try) June 2008 - L2 - PASS June 2009 - L3 - ___________ I’m with you OTBS - I’m not quitting. This year certainly feels better than last year…if I had failed last year, it would have been tough to give L2 a 4th try. at least I know if I fail L3 this year, I (should) only have one more go-round to get this #%^*& charter. Good luck!!!
Hi OffTheBalanceSheet, Good luck to you! On the bright side, you have already found your dream job. This is the most important thing. I don’t know how many years it will take for me to get my dream job :(. Actually, I am pretty depressed now since my three year efforts haven’t had any impact on my career so far.
I beat you all … 9 years. I will enjoy my charter more than anyone else on this board. 2001 L1 - pass 2002 L2 - pass 2003 L3- Fail 2004 L3- Fail 2005 L3- Fail 2006 L3- Fail 2007 L3- Fail 2008 L3- Fail 2009 L3- ??
Wha? Looks like we have a new role model??
7 Years here too: 2003 - Fail L1 - Did not know what I was getting into 2004 - Close - bombed ethics 2005 - Passed L1 2006- Failed L2 - Family health problems 2007 - Passed L2 - Performance looked worse then 2006 but somehow passed 2008 - Failed L3 - Band 9 2009 - ?

I call BS. You must of only put in 50-100hrs from 2003 to 2009 repeat so many times.

7 for me too: 2003 L1 Dec - Passed 2004 - took the year off to travel 2005 L2 - Registered but didn’t study (maybe 10 hours) and bother sitting the exam 2006 L2 - Failed Understudied, gave up about a week before exam but still sat it. 2007 L2 - Passed 2008 L3 - Failed Band 9 2009 L3 - It better at least be a band 10.
