Had rotator cuff surgery few years ago, so can’t lift like most of you big guys…I am now in stage of life where I just dont want to be fat so I bought Insanity last year and it is crazy good. I dropped 14lbs first time thru and now doing it again and I am seeing results once again. It is the best workout ever - and you dont need anything but yourself and a lot of motivation. Shaun T is no joke.
Not much actually. I’m cheap as hell but this stuff has all held up really well.
I got this 300 lb dumbbell set for $220
I got these dumbbells for $280 each
I got this bench (incline/decline & leg extension/curl) for $326
I probably spent about $90 on the resistance bands.
I couldn’t find a power rack that I liked so I built my own (very similar to this one) with the addition of a pull up bar and dip bars. I also added plate weight holders on the sides to hold the barbell set. It came out to about $250 for the materials.
We inherited the exercise bike and the treadmill we’ve had a while. I don’t really remember what it ran us but I want to say we picked it up from a neighbor for $600 or so although I run outside 95% of the time.
I’m married and have a kid. My wife and I each work and my kid is involved in a ton of stuff (piano lessons, drum lessons, taekwondo, basketball…) so time is an extremely limited resource. Like I said, I’m up at 5:45, workout, run, and I’m out the door by 7:30 to drop the kid off at school.
There are other benefits in addition to the time savings. The TV is always on what I want, the music is always on what I want. The weights are always correctly re-racked. No waiting on any equipment. And the private shower of course.
